When I planned my dive trip to Con Dao, Vietnam, I expected beautiful coral reefs. And don't get me wrong, they were amazing. But then I discovered something on Amadive Con Dao's dive list: **A Shipwreck Dive**. My pulse jumped. This was more than a typical dive; this was an exploration into the past.
I'll admit, I felt a little apprehensive. Wreck diving requires extra care. But the team at **Amadive** was absolutely professional. The PADI guides provided an excellent briefing. We covered our safety procedures, the history of the sunken ship, and what we would see. Being in such a small group instantly made me feel confident.
Going down was surreal. First, it's a dark shape in the blue, and then the wreck appeared. It was huge. The ship is now a bustling artificial reef, covered in soft corals and teeming with marine life. We saw giant groupers peeking from inside the hull, and lionfish patrolling the cracks. That feeling of gliding next to this silent, ghostly structure is hard to describe—haunting, awe-inspiring, and humbling all at once. It's a time capsule on the seabed.
For any an Open Water diver (or higher) coming to Con Dao and looking for something more the standard reef, I cannot recommend this **dive** enough. It was the unforgettable highlight of my diving trip. A huge shout-out to the **Amadive Con Dao** team for read more their professionalism and for making this incredible adventure possible and safe.
